UPDATED—‘Pimp on the Pike’ Sentenced

District Heights man was found guilty of running a prostitution ring from a Rockville Pike hotel.

UPDATED—The so-called "Pimp on the Pike" was sentenced to 20 years and six months, with 10 years suspended, for drug offenses and for running a prostitution ring out of a Rockville Pike hotel, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office announced.

Nashon Kornegay, 32, was sentenced Wednesday in Montgomery County Circuit Court by Judge Ronald Rubin.

In January, a jury convicted Kornegay of human trafficking and benefiting from human trafficking, prostitution, and attempting to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

He was arrested in March 2012 after police staged a “two-girl date” at Hilton hotel, according to court records.

Escorts advertised on BackPage.com were paid to have sex at Hilton hotel and gave the money to Kornegay, who the women described as their "pimp" when they were interviewed by police.

Police also retrieved 11 baggies of marijuana and 20 Ecstasy pills during the arrest, the court records state.

The six month sentence was tied to a drug offense, Montgomery County State’s Attorney spokesman Ramon Korionoff said.
