UPDATE: Shady Grove Road Ramp to I-270 Open

Montgomery County police say the ramp to Shady Grove Road from northbound Interstate 270 is open for the evening rush hour.

A tractor trailer overturned on the off-ramp to Shady Grove Road from northbound Interstate 270 on Friday morning, closing the ramp, a county fire and rescue service spokesman said.

County fire and rescue units were dispatched about 10:20 a.m. The driver of the tractor trailer, which was on its side, had freed himself from the cab and was not seriously injured, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a spokesman for the county fire and rescue service.

Information about the tractor trailer's cargo was not immediately available, but it was "nothing toxic or hazardous," Garcia said. Neither the cargo nor any fuel from the tractor trailer spilled, he said.
