Officials Release Name of Woman Who Died in Leisure World Fire

MCFRS: Cause of fire still unknown.

Fire officials said Debra Yuhas Lee, 63, died in a fire at Leisure World on Wednesday.

What caused the fire is still unknown, though investigators said the fire likely started in an enclosed sunroom and caused $150,000 in damage.

Sprinklers prevented the fire from spreading, according to MCFRS.

At around 12:30 p.m., firefighters were sent to the 15700 block of Interlachen Drive, where they found flames spewing from the 9th floor of a high rise. It took more than 75 firefighters to extinguish the blaze, an MCFRS spokeswoman told Patch Wednesday.
