No Injuries in Crawford Drive House Fire

Firefighters also searched King Farm after a report of the odor of gas on Monday evening.

No one was injured in a fire that broke out in a single-family home in the 1000 block of Crawford Drive in Rockville on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to a call just before 8:30 a.m. and took 10 minutes to extinguish the fire, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a county fire and rescue service spokesman.

The fire was contained to a second-floor bedroom, Garcia said.

One of two smoke alarms in the home activated, he said.

A damage estimate was not immediately available. Montgomery County fire investigators are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

In another incident, firefighters investigated a report of the odor of gas in the King Farm community of Rockville on Monday evening, Garcia said.

According to a dispatch report, three units of 10 to 12 firefighters were dispatched about 6:10 p.m. to the 500 block of Longhorn Crescent to investigate, he said. Firefighters spent about a half-hour on the scene.

There was no report of the outcome of their investigation, Garcia said.
