Fifteen rescue swimmers responded to the call to find the missing swimmer, according to DelMarvaNow, and 13 from the Ocean City Beach Patrol and two rescue swimmers from the resort's fire department turned out.

Ocean City police spokeswoman Lindsay O'Neal said several of the rescue swimmers pulled the victim from the water and performed CPR.

He was taken to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin by paramedics, but was pronounced dead shortly after, says WJLA TV.
