UPDATED: Montgomery County Police: Sex Assault Reported

A sex assault occurred in the 100 block of Halpine Road on Wednesday, Dec. 25 between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m. Police said the people involved knew each other.

An attempted burglary occurred at Extend Yoga, 12106 Wilkins Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 4 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken. Arrested: Male, 38, from Silver Spring

A theft occurred at Giant Food, 12051 Rockville Pike, on Sunday, Dec. 29 around 7:10 p.m. Police said the victim didn’t realize property was missing until later.

A theft occurred at the Giant Food, 12051 Rockville Pike on Friday, Dec. 20 between 3 and 4 p.m. Police said the victim didn’t realize property was missing until later.

There were 11 thefts from vehicles overnight between Monday, Dec. 16 and Tuesday, Dec. 17. Police said most of the vehicles were broken into but some of them were locked. The incidents were reported on:

  • Beall Avenue
  • Carr Avenue
  • Smallwood Road
  • Bickford Avenue
  • Great Falls Road
  • Forest Avenue
  • Montgomery Avenue
  • Grayson Court
  • Bradford Drive

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 15800 block of Crabbs Branch Way at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. A GPS and other property were recoverd by police. Arrested: Male, 24, from an unknown address

A residential burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Halesworth Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 17, between 7 and 8 p.m. Property was taken from a vehicle in the garage. Arrested: Male, 16, from Rockville

A residential burglary occurred in the 1200 block of Halesworth Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at an unknown time. Nothing was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 14500 block of Kings Rant Street, sometime  between Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 28. Forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 14200 block of Platinum Drive between 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 and 1 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27. Forced entry; property taken. 

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 17500 block of Kohlhoss Road between Sunday, Dec. 29 and Monday, Dec. 30. Unknown entry; property taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 17500 block of Kohlhoss Road between Wednesday, Dec. 18 and Thursday, Dec. 19. Forced entry; nothing taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Extra Space Storage, 11850 Parklawn Drive in Rockville sometime between Tuesday, Dec. 17 and Wednesday, Dec. 18. No forced entry; property taken.

A theft occurred at a construction site located 11019 Cedarwood Drive in Rockville on Wednesday, Dec. 18 between 11:40 a.m. and noon.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 11900 block of Hunters Lane in Rockville on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 1:45 a.m.

An 18-year-old Rockville man was among three arrested following a vehicle theft in 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 the 19500 block of Divot Place in Montgomery Village. Two 16-year-old boys from Gaithersburg were also arrested.

A peeping tom incident occurred at Red, Hot, and Blue, 16811 Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 3:45 p.m. The suspect was hiding and watching the victim. Police said the people involved knew each other.

Editor's Note | To clarify a misleading headline on the original version of this story: The attempted burglary incident reported at extendYoga on Sunday, Dec. 29 was not related to a sex assault reported on Halpine Road on Dec. 25. The owner of the yoga studio told Patch that, with regard to the Dec. 29 incident, a person was wandering through the parking lot and was knocking on the door to the business, spurring police involvement.
