Montgomery County Police: Armed Carjacking Reported, Rockville Dollar Tree Robbed

The following information was supplied by Montgomery County police for Rockville and its surrounding region. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

A 30-year-old man for Washington, DC was arrested following reports of an armed carjacking in the 6000 block of California Circle in Rockville on Friday, Aug. 16 at 10:05 p.m.

An armed robbery was reported at The Dollar Tree store, 1776 E. Jefferson Street in Rockville at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.  The robber was described as a black male in his 40s or 50s, between 5-feet 9-inches and 5-feet 10-inches and 200 to 230 pounds. Police said the male had a dark complexion, had on a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with sunglasses and gloves.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested following reports of a robbery behind the CVS, 2210 Veirs Mill Road in Rockville, at around 8:390 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.

An attempted commercial burglary was reported in the 1000 block of E. Gude Drive in Rockville on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 9:35 a.m. Arrested: Male, 25, from Rockville.

A theft was reported at the Rockville Metro, 250 Rockville Pike in Rockville on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 10:05 p.m. Police said a male grabbed the victim’s purse and ran.

 A vehicle theft was reported at the Shady Grove Metro parking lot, 15902 Somerville Drive in Derwood on Tuesday, Aug. 20, between 5:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

A theft from a vehicle was reported on Deborah Drive in Rockville on Sunday, Aug. 18, between 4 and 6 a.m. A wallet, cash and an iPod were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

A strong-arm robbery was reported in front of Argyle Middle School located at 2400 Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill on Monday, Aug. 12 at 12:30 p.m.  Police said two males were involved.

A residential burglary was reported in the 14500 block of Melinda Drive in Rockville on Thursday, Aug. 15. No forced entry; property taken.

A 48-year-old man was arrested following reports of a residential burglary in the 14400 block of Nadine Drive in Rockville on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6 a.m. No forced entry; unknown if anything was taken.

A residential burglary was reported in the 15200 block of Red Clover Drive in Rockville on Sunday, Aug. 18.

A residential burglary was reported in the 10000 block of Sterling Terrace in Rockville on Monday, Aug. 12, between 12:45 and 2 a.m. No forced entry; property taken.
