He’s been dubbed “The Pimp on the Pike.”
Now, Nahshon Kornegay, 31, of District Heights, could face up to 20 years in prison after being found guilty Wednesday of running a prostitution ring out of the Hilton hotel in Rockville, NBC Washington reported.
A victim’s advocate said Kornegay took away the identification of young homeless women who worked for him and told them they’d be arrested if they talked, NBC Washington reported.
One of the women was a key witness for the prosecution, The Washington Post reported.
Prosecutors said Kornegay advertised online and used text messages to communicate with the women working for him. “This case is about what it means to be a pimp in the year 2012,” Montgomery County Assistant State’s Attorney Patrick Mays said in his closing argument, The Post reported.
Jurors found Kornegay guilty of two counts of prostitution, three counts of human trafficking and one count of attempted distribution of Ecstasy, The Post reported.
