A tutor and coach of Bethesda and Potomac students has been charged in the sexual abuse of a teenage girl he was instructing, police reported in a statement on Tuesday.
Montgomery County Public Schools notified police in November 2013 that Daniel Mandel Sirotkin—who had been hired by parents as a private tutor and private athletic coach—was engaging in inappropriate contact with students, police said.
Police charged Sirotkin, 30, of Germantown, with two counts of sex abuse of a minor and three counts of third-degree sex abuse, police said.
Investigators say Sirotkin has been tutoring and coaching high school students for several years, police reported.
Police ask any parent or child who feels Sirotkin engaged in inappropriate behavior to call the Montgomery County Police Department's Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400.
