Human Trafficking, Assault and Drug Arrests and Burglaries in Rockville City Police Reports

Arrests and incidents through Dec. 30, according to Rockville city police.

 

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt. 

Arrests

800 block of Rockville Pike: A 28-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana and possession of a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana at 12:07 a.m. Dec. 19.

Maryland Avenue and W. Argyle Street: A 17-year-old boy was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing and hindering a police investigation between 2:37 and 2:50 p.m. Dec. 19. 

200 block of West Montgomery Avenue: A 50-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance—heroin and possession of a controlled dangerous substance—cocaine at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 21.

200 block of Frederick Avenue: A 29-year-old man was arrested for burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana between 12:23 and 1 p.m. Dec. 24.

Unit block of Research Court: A 30-year-old man was arrested for human trafficking and second-degree assault at 6:27 p.m. Dec. 25.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at 1 p.m. Dec. 27 for making a bomb threat between 3:01 a.m. Dec. 21 and 2:52 p.m. Dec. 22 in the unit block of Mannakee Street.

14900 block of Shady Grove Road: A 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested for theft between 6:40 and 6:45 p.m. Dec. 28. The woman was also charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.

2000 block of Rockland Avenue: A 41-year-old man was arrested for malicious destruction of property between 1:45 and 1:47 a.m. Dec. 29.

700 block of Monroe Street: A 28-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault between 2:10 and 2:15 p.m. Dec. 29.

700 block of Monroe Street: A 53-year-old woman was arrested for second-degree assault between 5:30 and 5:53 p.m. Dec. 29.

Incidents

1600 block of Veirs Mill Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a cell phone, a handheld humidity tester and a GPS unit from an unlocked vehicle between 7 and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15.

1500 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject entered a business and removed a cell phone from a display shelf between 2:20 and 3 p.m. Dec. 18.

200 block of Congressional Lane: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed an iPod and a GPS unit from his vehicle between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 18.

300 block of Long Trail Terrace: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a package containing security devices, which he was donating to charity, from outside his residence between 5:15 and 9 a.m. Dec. 19.

300 block of Maryland Avenue: The complainant reported she inadvertently left her purse behind while exiting her vehicle between 8 and 9 a.m. Dec. 19. When she returned, an unknown subject had taken the purse.

5900 block of Holland Road: An unknown subject gained access through an unlocked rear window at a residence between 12:45 and 1:44 p.m. Dec. 19. Once inside, the unknown subject removed a cell phone and a necklace.

1700 block of Rockville Pike: An unknown subject gained access by breaking a front glass door at a business at 1:01 a.m. Dec. 21. Once inside, the unknown subject removed two cell phones.

100 block of Halpine Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a camera and a fur coat from a vehicle between 5 and 9:17 p.m. Dec. 22.

100 block of Halpine Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed U.S. currency, a laptop computer and a two-way radio from a vehicle between 9 p.m. Dec. 21 and 7 a.m. Dec. 22.

Unit block of Maryland Avenue: The complainant reported that while he was at Rockville Memorial Library, an unknown subject bumped him and removed his wallet between 10:55 and 11 a.m. Dec. 21.

Unit block of Dawson Avenue: An unknown subject gained access by unknown means through a front door of an apartment between 2 p.m. Dec. 21 and 8 a.m. Dec. 24. Once inside, the unknown subject removed U.S. currency, a purse and jewelry.

400 block of Feather Rock Drive: An unknown subject gained access by breaking a rear basement door at a residence between 10 a.m. Dec. 23 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 26. Nothing was taken.

100 block of Halpine Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a CD/navigation/DVD/Bluetooth unit from a vehicle between 2 and 11:30 a.m. Dec. 24.

500 block of Woodston Road: An unknown subject gained access through an unlocked front door at a residence between 9:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 24. Once inside, the unknown subject removed a space heater and an electric fan. 

1200 block of Taft Street: An unknown subject gained access by kicking in a front door of a business between 5 and 9:29 p.m. Dec. 24. Once inside, the unknown subject removed U.S. currency.

300 block of Adclare Road: An unknown subject gained access by breaking a rear basement window at a church between 6 p.m. Dec. 24 and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 25. Once inside, the unknown subject removed a safe, a pair of candlestick holders, a cross, a guitar amplifier, two mixers, a compressor, an equalizer, a CPU unit, a monitor, and speakers.

600 block of Southlawn Lane: An unknown subject gained access by breaking the hinges off an iron gate and prying open the rear door of a business between 6 p.m. Dec. 24 and 5:40 a.m. Dec. 26. Once inside, the unknown subject removed U.S. currency and miscellaneous food and beverage items.

100 block of Garcia Lane: An unknown subject gained access by unknown means into a residence between 11 a.m. Dec. 25 and 7 p.m. Dec. 30. Nothing was taken.

700 block of First Street: An unknown subject gained access by breaking a front glass door at a restaurant between 10:30 and 10:32 p.m. Dec. 28. Once inside, the unknown subject removed U.S. currency.

Unit block of Southlawn Lane: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a cell phone from a gym bag at a recreational facility between 8:50 and 10 a.m. Dec. 29.

200 block of North Van Buren Street: An unknown subject gained access by prying open a front window at a residence between 10 and 10:19 p.m. Dec. 29. No entry was made into the residence.

Twinbrook Swimming Pool (TSP) can hold three public open house days to introduce the pool toRead More perspective members. This year the dates are June 8, July 13 and August 10. The cost is $5 per person. The TSP has a big insurance policy to cover swimmers. Not sure free is appropriate. As a private membership pool, there are regulations that must be followed.

Does either county or city pool offer free trial periods? I don't think so.

If you swim on the 3 open public swim days at the Twinbrook Swimming Pool, you can consider it aRead More trial. Liability insurance does cost money. Entrance of $5 is a real bargain. Members pay to maintain the pool.

It sounds like your daughter and god daughter don't have their own phones? No matter my children's age, I make it a point to know the running times of the movies they're at, especially if I am the one who is going to be picking them up. We warn children--especially girls and young women--not to go to strangers for help. We know that of the three girls, the man kidnapped one who was his daughter's friend after giving her a lift.
