Firefighter Injured in N. Stonestreet Avenue Fire

Tuesday morning fire also displaced a resident, a fire spokesman said.

A firefighter was injured and a resident was displaced by a fire in a home on North Stonestreet Avenue in Rockville on Tuesday morning, a county fire and rescue service spokesman said.

It took Montgomery County firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze in the single-story home in the 900 block of North Stonestreet Avenue, said Capt. Oscar Garcia.

Fifty to 55 firefighters responded to the call about 11:40 a.m., Garcia said.

Fire officials are investigating the cause.

The nature of the firefighter’s injuries was not immediately available, Garcia said. It was unclear whether anyone was home at the time of the fire.

The American Red Cross was on the scene to assist the displaced resident, Garcia said.
