Fire Investigators Check Out Odor in King Farm

Firefighters found no smoke or fire on a call to an apartment complex Tuesday morning.

County firefighters responded to a call about smoke on the second floor of an apartment building at 305 Redland Blvd. in Rockville at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said.

They found no fire and no smoke, but there was an odor that was electrical in nature coming from the second floor near the elevators, said Capt. Oscar Garcia.

Firefighters and rescue workers began to leave the scene around 10:50 a.m., but some stayed to work with building maintenance to investigate the odor and search for a possible electrical malfunction, Garcia said.
