Crash Causes Blip in Afternoon Traffic

The collision at Norbeck and Baltimore roads occurred just before the peak of the afternoon rush.

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Baltimore and Norbeck roads in Rockville on Monday afternoon led to people being taken to the hospital and slowed traffic in the area.

There was little to report on the incident, said Assistant Chief Scott Graham, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman.

"We had our normal accident assignment," said Graham, who had no other details of the incident as of 4 p.m.

A righthand turn lane on eastbound Norbeck Road and a lefthand turn lane on nortbound Balitmore Road were blocked and traffic was a bit slower than usual through the area but all travel lanes were open.

The crash was the second of two incidents reported Monday afternoon, including a separate earlier incident at Norbeck Road and East Gude Drive. No further details were available about that incident.
