UPDATED—The motorist who crashed into the CVS Pharmacy on Rockville Pike on Monday was trying to park her car, Rockville City Police said.
There were no reports of injuries and no other passengers were inside the vehicle, police said.
The crash happened at around 10 a.m. at the CVS at 1580 Rockville Pike.
Police said a female was trying to park in a space near the front entrance doors and accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the break.
The car drove over a curb, struck the building near the front entrance doors then was deflected by another parked vehicle, police said.
A City of Rockville building inspector determined that the store was uninhabitable until repairs are made to the front entrance.
The CVS will remain closed until those repairs are made and the city determines the structure is safe to occupy.
