Arrests and incidents for July 18-29.

 

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on July 18 for second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit theft following an incident that occurred on June 28 in the 300 block of Grandin Avenue.

200 block of Marsh Hollow Place: A 28-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property at 12:30 p.m. on July 22.

1200 block of Rockville Pike: A 48-year-old man was arrested for theft at 12:03 p.m. on July 24.

Blandford Street and Mt. Vernon Place: A 13-year-old boy was arrested for second-degree assault on a police officer at 8 p.m. on July 24.

300 block of Hungerford Drive: A 34-year-old woman was arrested for theft between 9:38 and 9:41 a.m. on July 26.

200 block of Meadow Hall Drive: A 25-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing between 3:56 and 3:58 a.m. on July 29.

Incidents

600 block of Lofstrand Lane: The complainant reported that an unknown subject had removed various copper, metals, and tools from the business between 9 a.m. on May 23 and 4:09 p.m. on July 24.

1500 block of Rockwood Drive: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a GPS from her vehicle between 8:30 p.m. on July 20 and 9 a.m. on July 21.

1100 block Higgins Place: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a GPS and an iPod from an unlocked vehicle between 1:30 p.m. on July 23 and 8:15 a.m. on July 25.

300 block of Hungerford Drive: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed several cosmetic items from the business between 2:56 and 3 p.m. on July 23.

Suspect description: A black male, 40 to 45 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch, 180 to 190 pounds, with brown eyes. Last seen wearing black dress pants and a dark blue dress shirt and carrying a black backpack.

14900 block of Shady Grove Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed an unattended cell phone from a desk at a store between 2:19 and 2:20 p.m. on July 24.

Suspect description: A black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet, 140 to 160 pounds, bald, with brown eyes, light skin tone and a thin build. Last seen wearing black tight pants, white shoes with black on the front, a white baseball hat with a dark brim and a white hooded sweatshirt with the word “Rebel” and a bulldog figure on it.

900 block of Hungerford Drive: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed two iPads from an office suite between 5 p.m. on July 24 and noon on July 25.

1300 block of Crawford Drive: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a GPS and an iPod from an unlocked vehicle between 6 p.m. on July 24 and noon on July 25.

Chapman Avenue and Halpine Road: An unknown subject or subjects gained access to a construction site through an opening in a security fence at 11:30 p.m. on July 24 and at 12:05 a.m. on July 25. Once inside, the unknown subject or subjects removed copper wiring and fiber optic cables.

5700 block of Fishers Lane: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed U.S. currency from a purse that was unsecured in an employees’ area of a restaurant between 7 and 7:30 p.m. on July 25.

14900 block of Shady Grove Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed U.S. currency from a purse that was left unattended in an employee break room at a doctor’s office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on July 26.

5700 block of Vandegrift Avenue: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a wallet, two bank cards and an iPod from a vehicle between 3 and 4:15 a.m. on July 26.

100 block of Long Trail Terrace: An unknown subject or subjects gained access by breaking the front door glass window panel at a residence between 9:30 and 9:35 p.m. on July 26. Nothing was taken.

Suspect description: A black male, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, 200 to 240 pounds. Last seen wearing a black uniform-style shirt with short sleeves and black uniform-style pants.

1700 block of Grandin Avenue: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a cell phone and a cell phone case from an unlocked vehicle between 1 and 1:10 p.m. on July 27.

1100 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a laptop and a laptop case from a business between 9 p.m. on July 27 and 8 a.m. on July 28. 

7300 block of Westmore Drive: The complainant reported that unknown subjects removed numerous scrap metal items from a business between noon and 12:15 p.m. on July 28.

Suspects’ descriptions:

  1. A black male, 40 to 50 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, 200 pounds, with short hair and a muscular build.
  2. Male. No further description.
