Assaults, Robberies and Dangerous Concealed Weapons in Rockville City Police Reports

Arrests and incidents through Feb. 3, according to Rockville city police.

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt. 

Arrests

200 block of Richard Montgomery Drive: A 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—amphetamines between 8:45 and 10:10 a.m. Jan. 25.

100 block of Gibbs Street: Two men, ages 25 and 35, were arrested for possession of dangerous concealed weapons (a machete and three metal 10-inch knives) between 11:30 and 11:34 p.m. Jan. 28.

1600 block of Piccard Drive: A 21-year-old man was arrested for malicious destruction of property between 12:12 and 12:30 p.m. Jan. 28.

400 block of Silver Rock Road: A 53-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct between 1:05 and 2:00 a.m. Jan. 29.

1600 block of Gruenther Avenue: A 42-year-old man was arrested for second-degree domestic assault between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 30.

Unit block of Monroe Street: A 43-year-old man was arrested for second-degree domestic assault between 3 and 3:30 a.m. Jan. 31.

Incidents

800 block of Rockville Pike: An unknown subject attempted to gain access by trying to pry open the rear door of a business between noon Jan. 24 and noon Jan. 25. No entry was made. 

200 block of Richard Montgomery Drive: The complainant reported that an unknown subject took her unattended purse containing U.S. currency, IDs and a bank in a school auditorium between 2:15 p.m. Jan. 24 and 11 a.m. Jan. 25.

1600 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject entered the business and removed two bottles of perfume, then exited the business without paying for the items between 2:55 and 3:10 p.m. Jan. 30.

Suspect description: Male, 50 to 55 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch, 190 to 200 pounds, with short black hair, facial stubble, and a medium build. Last seen wearing a short-sleeve white button down shirt, a white long-sleeve long john-type shirt, a light blue knitted hat, a green vest and faded blue jeans.

100 block of Halpine Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed two shotguns, a mechanics tool set, and a box containing camping gear from a vehicle in a parking garage between 12:01 and 11:15 a.m. Jan. 31. 

15200 block of Shady Grove Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject entered a pharmacy, walked up to a clerk and displayed a note demanding prescription medication between 5:20 and 5:35 p.m. Jan. 31. Once receiving the medication and demanding the note back, the subject fled.

Suspect description: Male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, 150 to 160 pounds, with short red or auburn hair. Last seen wearing an ace bandage covering his face, mirrored sunglasses, a black T-shirt, white shirt and brown hat, and carrying a blue canvas backpack.

1700 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject entered the business, removed several jackets off the rack and entered the dressing room at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 1. The subject then exited the dressing room, handed a couple of items to the store clerk and fled out a rear door, causing the alarms to sound. The subject was seen getting into a vehicle, which left the scene.

Suspect description: Male, 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 1 inches, 200 to 230 pounds, with a mustache and beard and a heavy build. Last seen wearing a black backpack, a black winter hat, white tennis shoes, a tan winter coat and black slacks.

100 block of Gibbs Street: The complainant reported that during a commotion at a business, an unknown subject removed her purse containing U.S. currency, a driver’s license, a bank card, and a set of keys from a table at a restaurant between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Feb. 3.
