Arrest Made in Rockville Stun Gun Robbery

Police: Victim was hospitalized after being jumped, robbed by three assailants

A robbery near Maryvale Park that involved a stun gun and sent one person to the hospital has led to an arrest. Police said Quinnel Lee Martin, 27, of the 200 block of East Argyle Street, was charged with several counts of armed robbery assault. 

The charges stem from an incident reported early Sunday in the 700 block of First Street. Police said three males approached the alleged victim, zapping him with a stun gun before punching him to the ground and kicking him. 

Police said three males took the victim’s jacket, money and prescription medication.

The victim was left with a broken nose, facial swelling and several cuts. Police said he was treated at a local hospital.

Martin, who is known as “Q,” was arrested Wednesday at Rockville Metro station without incident. Police said they found what appeared to be crack cocaine next to Martin when they arrested him—spurring a drug possession charge and a charge of possession with intent to distribute.

Police said Martin is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
