Aggravated Assault, a Weapons Violation and Thefts from Vehicles in County Police Reports

The following is compiled from Montgomery County Police Department crime summaries. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

Two arrests were made in connection with five thefts from vehicles that occurred between 6 and 6:11 a.m. on Aug.19 in the Silver Rock neighborhood of Rockville. All but one of the vehicles targeted was unlocked. One vehicle had unknown entry:

• Clagett Drive and Maple Avenue: Cell phone taken.
• 300 block of Clagett Drive: GPS unit taken.
• 900 block of Maple Avenue: Cash, a DVD player and a tote bag with nine DVDs taken.
• 300 block of Dean Drive: Nothing taken.
• 300 block of Clagett Drive: GPS unit taken.

A 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, both from Rockville, were arrested.

Shady Grove Metro station: A 23-year-old man from King George, VA was arrested for a weapons violation at 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 21.

14941 Shady Grove Road: An aggravated assault occurred in the parking lot of at 8:44 a.m. on Aug. 17. A suspect threatened the victim with a weapon. A 59 year-old man from Rockville was arrested.

Incidents

13251 Atlantic Ave.: A theft from a vehicle occurred in the parking lot of the between 3 and 4 a.m. on Aug. 19. 

Two incidents of graffiti occurred Aug. 19:

• 600 Mannakee St.: Between 10 and 10:15 a.m. in .
• 200 block of N. Washington St.: Between 1 and 6 a.m.

Six thefts from vehicles occurred in Derwood overnight Aug. 13-14. All but one vehicle had unlocked doors. One had unknown entry:

• 15500 block of Grinnell Terrace: Between 2 and 9 a.m. Property taken.
• 15600 block of Wapello Way: Between 1 and 8 a.m. Coins and a Nintendo DS with eight games taken.
• 15500 block of Grinnell Terrace: Between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Two vehicles searched. Cash and a Metro SmarTrip card taken.
• 15400 block of Indianola Drive: At 6 a.m. An iPod, swim gear and two Metro SmarTrip cards taken.
• 15600 block of Indianola Drive: Between 10:30 and 12:30 a.m. Cash taken.
• Unit block of Grinnell Court: Between 10:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. An iPod taken.

200 block of Long Trail Terrace: A residential burglary occurred between 1:20 and 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 17. Forced entry. Property taken.

14000 block of Pellita Terrace: An attempted theft from a vehicle occurred at 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 21. Nothing was taken. 
Suspects’ descriptions:

1. A male of unknown race, 16 to 18 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, 160 to 180 pounds. Last seen wearing a white baseball cap.
2. Unknown race and sex, 16 to 18 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet, 170 to 180 pounds. Last seen carrying a backpack.
