A Purse Snatching, a Mugging, an Assault and Drug Arrests in Rockville City Police Reports

Arrests and incidents for Nov. 10-17, according to Rockville city police.

 

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt. 

Arrests

100 block of Moore Drive: A 19-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 12.

Howard Street and North Horners Lane: A 48-year-old woman was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Alprazolam and Quetiapine) without a prescription between 12:51 and 1:50 p.m. on Nov. 15.

Norbeck Road and East Gude Drive: A 46-year-old man was arrested for possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance—crack cocaine at 8:35 p.m. on Nov. 15.

1200 block of Gladstone Drive: A 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana between 7:32 and 7:41 p.m. on Nov. 17.

Incidents

700 block of King Farm Boulevard: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed jewelry from her bedroom between noon on Jan. 15 and noon on Nov. 10.

500 block of Mount Vernon Place: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed two fire extinguishers from an apartment building between 2 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 11 a.m. on Nov. 11.

1700 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed his cell phone that was left unattended on a counter at a hotel between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 13.

5900 block of Halpine Road: The complainant reported that she had just exited the Twinbrook Metro and was walking on Halpine Road between 7:20 and 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 when she heard someone approach her from behind. The unknown subject struck her, grabbed the her purse and was last seen fleeing towards Lewis Avenue.

Suspect description: Male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches, 140 to 150 pounds, with a thin build. Last seen wearing black boots, a black sweater, a black hooded coat and black jeans.

1000 block of Twinbrook Parkway: The complainant reported that during a dinner that was being held at a church an unknown subject removed a laptop from an unsecured office between 6:30 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 14.

Unit block of West Montgomery Avenue: An unknown subject gained access into an office by prying open the front door of a suite between 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 6 a.m. on Nov. 15. Nothing was taken.

600 block of Marcia Lane: An unknown subject gained access by breaking a basement window at a residence between 11:22 a.m. and noon on Nov. 15. Nothing was taken.

1100 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed an iPad that had been left unattended on a desk at a business between 3 and 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.

400 block of Elmcroft Boulevard: An unknown subject gained access by unknown means into a garage storage unit at a residential parking garage between 2 and 3 p.m. on Nov. 16. Nothing was taken.

5900 block of Halpine Road: An unknown subject gained access by breaking a basement sliding glass door between 9 a.m. and 6:11 p.m. on Nov. 16. Once inside, the unknown subject removed electronic devices, jewelry, currency, and a gym bag.

200 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a laptop and nine cell phones from a vehicle between 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 4:15 a.m. on Nov. 17.

Unit block of Mannakee Street: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a laptop from a backpack that was left unattended in the library at a school between 2:45 and 3 p.m. on Nov. 17.

100 block Grandin Avenue: The complainant reported that he was approached at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 18 by an acquaintance who asked for help and money. When the complainant reached into his pocket, the suspect grabbed the complainant’s hand and pushed the complainant to the ground. The suspect removed U.S. currency from the complainant and fled towards the Rockville Metro Station. 

Suspect description: Male, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches, with a mustache and beard and a medium build. Last seen wearing a dark blue puffy jacket and solid blue jeans.
