A Gun at a School and an Armed Robbery in City Police Reports

Arrests and incidents for Oct. 21 to Nov. 5, according to Rockville police.

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt. 

Arrests

Lincoln Street and North Horners Lane: A 51-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—crack cocaine, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, and a 25-year-old was arrested for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance at 9 p.m. on Oct. 25.

1900 block of Rockland Avenue: A 19-year-old man was arrested for attempted theft and rogue and vagabond between 7:02 and 7:31 p.m. on Oct. 26. 

300 block of College Parkway: An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia at 12:25 p.m. on Oct. 28.

300 block of Grandin Avenue: A 30-year-old woman was arrested for theft and resisting arrest between 1:20 and 1:29 p.m. on Oct. 29.

200 block of Richard Montgomery Drive: An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 21, possession of ammunition by a person under the age of 21, and possession of a firearm on school property between 1:10 and 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 25.

14500 block of Avery Road: An 18-year-old man was arrested for disturbing orderly conduct at a school and a 17-year-old boy was arrested for disturbing orderly conduct at a school, malicious destruction of property and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia at 12:43 p.m. on Oct. 31.

200 block of West Montgomery Avenue: A female 49-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order and trespassing between 6:55 and 7:20 p.m. on Nov. 1.

Unit block of Adclare Road: A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia at 10:08 p.m. on Nov. 2.

West Montgomery Avenue and Darnestown Road: A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance— marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance—cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance—Percocet, possession of a controlled dangerous substance—PCP, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance—Percocet, driving under the influence of alcohol and several traffic citations at 5:08 a.m. on Nov. 3.

Falls Road and Great Falls Road: A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon (a knife) at 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 3.

12800 block of Atlantic Avenue: A 32-year-old man was arrested for trespassing and making a false statement to a police officer between 3:30 and 3:35 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Frederick Avenue and North Stone Street Avenue: A 50-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—crack cocaine and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia at 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Incidents

1100 block of Rockville Pike: An unknown subject or subjects gained access through an unlocked balcony door to an apartment between 4 and 8 p.m. on Oct. 21 and took a laptop. 

200 block of Rollins Avenue: An unknown subject removed jewelry from a jewelry box at an apartment between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 24.

100 block of Hungerford Drive: An unknown subject or subjects gained access to a building under construction between 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 and removed a large amount of copper fittings and copper welding leads.

300 block of Martins Lane: The complainant reported an unknown subject removed a lock and wallet containing U.S. currency and credit cards from a locked locker at a recreational facility.

Monroe Street and E. Jefferson Street: The complainant reported that an unknown subject approached her from behind  at 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 27 and attempted to snatch her purse. The complainant was then assaulted and knocked to the ground, while the subject took the purse and fled the scene.

Suspect description: A male, 16 to 19 years old, 5-feet-6 inches to 5-feet-7 inches, 150 to 160 pounds, with short black hair and a medium build. Last seen wearing blue jeans and a green puffy coat.

16000 block of Shady Grove Road: The complainant reported she called a known acquaintance and asked for a ride to the store between 9:45 and 9:58 p.m. on Oct. 30. As the complainant was entering the vehicle, she was grabbed from behind and her wallet was ripped from her hand. As the complainant pleaded for her safety a second subject pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun. The subjects took the wallet, U.S. currency, a cell phone and an ID card and fled the scene. 

Suspects’ descriptions:

  1. Ivan (unknown last name): A male, 20 to 25 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet-2, 200 to 230 pounds, with brown eyes, black cornrows/braids, facial stubble and a medium build. Last seen wearing green camouflage pants and a gray sweatshirt.
  2. A male, 20 to 25 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet-2, 200 to 230 pounds, with a black Afro, facial stubble and a heavy build. Last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
  3. A male, 20 to 25 years old, 6-feet to 6-feet-2 inches, 200 to 240 pounds, bald, with facial stubble and a medium build. Last seen wearing a blue windbreaker, a black winter hat and blue jeans.

Suspect vehicle description: A green Chrysler.

600 block of Elmcroft Boulevard: An unknown subject gained access by prying open a storage unit in a residential garage and removed a power drill and a compass between 10 a.m. on Oct. 27 and 1:18 p.m. on Oct. 29.

400 block of Blandford Street: The complainant reported that during a gathering at his residence an unknown subject removed an iPad, a wallet and U.S. currency between 1 and 8:44 a.m. on Oct. 31.

800 block of King Farm Boulevard: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed several copper pipes from the stairwell at a parking garage between 10 a.m. on Oct. 30 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 31.

1600 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed her wallet, which she inadvertently had left unattended in a shopping cart at a store between 5 and 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 31. The wallet contained two credit cards, U.S. currency, a driver’s license and two gift cards.

Unit block of Monroe Street: The complainant reported that a known subject removed a camera, checkbook and credit card from his unsecured vehicle between 1 and 2 a.m. on Nov. 1.

1700 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant reported that two unknown subjects entered the business between 4:45 and 4:55 p.m. on Nov. 1. Subject No. 1 removed a jacket from a display. Both subjects left through the emergency exit of the store without paying for the item. 

Suspect descriptions’:

  1. A male, 20 to 25 years old, 5-feet-10 to 5-feet-11, 175 to 180 pounds, with black dreadlocks/twists, a mustache and beard, light skin tone and a medium build. Last seen wearing a black jacket with a pullout hood.
  2. A male, 35 to 40 years old, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-9, 175 to 180 pounds, with very short black hair and a medium build. Last seen wearing glasses and a red polo shirt.

Suspect vehicle description: A 2006 light blue Chrysler Pacifica, with Virginia license plates.

200 block of Stonestreet Avenue: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed her cell phone from a counter at a convenience store between 3:30 and 3:35 p.m. on Nov. 2.

14900 block of Shady Grove Road: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a credit card, a cell phone charger, a computer charging cord and a GPS from a vehicle between 2:30 and 11 a.m. on Nov. 4. 

100 block of Gibbs Street: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed her wallet, containing a driver’s license, four credit cards and an ID card, from her purse at a restaurant between 11 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 5.
