UPDATE: Toddler Who Fell from Fourth Floor Window in ‘Stable’ Condition

Girl hospitalized after incident Monday morning on Bel Pre Road.

(Update 1 p.m.) A 3-year-old girl is in serious but stable condition at Children’s Hospital after a fall from a fourth-floor window Monday.

County police said two adult family members were in the home when the girl fell out of the window. Detectives from the police department's Family Crimes Division were investigating the incident, "as is protocol," police said in a news release.

The incident occurred at around 9 a.m., in the 3800 block of Bel Pre Road. Police said the girl and her brother may have been trying to look at the snow.

The toddler was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring for initial treatment, then was taken to Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., police said.

Police said the girl was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.

At around 9 a.m., police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the 3800 block of Bel Pre Road in Aspen Hill.

Montgomery County Police Capt. Paul Starks said the girl and her 5-year-old brother may have opened the window.

“We think they might have been trying to look at the snow,” Starks said.

Police said the incident is still being investigated.
