BRASS AND VOICES CELEBRATE IN TWO HOLIDAY BENEFIT CONCERTS

The Rockville Brass Band and the Maryland Choral Society will join forces in two holiday concerts to benefit Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and enriches the human experiences with hope, strength, and joy.

The concerts will take place on Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m., at the Hughes Methodist Church located at 10700 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton, Maryland, and on Sunday, December 8 at 4:00 p.m., at Mount Calvary Catholic Church located at 6700 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, Maryland. The Rockville Brass Band will be conducted by its musical director, Nigel Horne, and the Maryland Choral Society, by its artistic director, Richard Giarusso. All net proceeds from the concerts will go to the local branch of Make-A-Wish®. What better way to launch the holidays than with music and charity!

The concerts will present a range of festive seasonal music for chorus and brass. Featured works will include A Christmas Festival Overture (Anderson), Three Kings Swing (Himes), The Hallelujah Chorus (Handel), and contemporary arrangements of beloved classics.
