Get Informed: Financial Planning Helps Prepare for Alzheimer's

If you or a loved one is at risk for dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, it is crucial to get your house in order. There are many relevant decisions that will have to be made, and advanced planning is the best way to make sure your future is secured.

Ingleside at King Farm, a continuing care retirement community is offering an informative seminar on this subject, Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s, and we cordially invite you to attend. Rick Gow, a financial planner with Lara, Shull & May, a firm based in Falls Church will give a lecture and answer your questions. The date of the event is Thursday, July 11th at 2:00pm.

In this lecture, he will cover the importance of organizing key documents, designating a trusted relative with power of attorney, and putting advanced medical directives in place. Gow will also discuss long term care strategies, including Medicare, finances and insurance.

From a recent news story in NVDaily.com (http://www.nvdaily.com/news/2012/11/dementia-and-alzheimers-caregivers-get-answers-at-valley-health-event.php):

"Finances and legal matters are not something that you want to worry about and stress over when you're already faced with taking care of and dealing with a family member who's diagnosed with this disease," he said.
