Celebrate July Fourth in Rockville

Music, fireworks show set for this year's Independence Day Celebration

Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration is set for 7 p.m. at Montgomery College’s Rockville campus.

The fireworks show—preceded by patriotic music from Fugitive Brass Quintet and the Rockville Concert Band—kicks off at 9 p.m.

Bring chairs, blankets but leave alcohol, cigarettes and barbecue grills at the house.

Last year the City of Rockville cancelled its fireworks show at the last minute, in the wake of destructive storms that left much of the county without electricity and under debris.

Power outages and downed lines limited access to the campus, Patch reported in 2012.
