Whiskey Tasting at The Limerick Pub: Thursday, January 30th.

You
say potato(e), I say potato(e). No matter how you spell whisk(e)y, the
new monthly tastings hosted by Dan Welch will be a lot of fun. The
first one is on January 30th at 7:30 sharp!

Dan is a
"dedicated whisky aficionado," with years (and years) of intense
experience exploring the intricacies of Scotch, Irish, Welsh, Japanese,
and American single malt whiskies, and a joy in bringing his knowledge
(and experiences) to others.

The tastings will present a two or three whisky "flight" selected by Dan to
illustrate similarities or differences, regional characteristics, age
or processing differences, or simply humorous aspects of the whiskies.
The flight will be served as 1/2 oz. drams, so you can sample all three
for the intake of one drink. Precisely at 7:30, Dan will introduce the
whiskies in the flight, explain the theme which binds them together for
the night, and give a brief exposition on their history, production,
characteristics, sensual interpretation, and interplay.

Flight:
January's Single Malt Flight
Auchentoshan 12yo
The Macallan 12yo
Laphoraig 10yo

Dan will be available after his presentation to answer questions about
the whiskies in the flight, single malts in general, the history and
process of whisky making, what makes a really good single malt
experience, and anything else the questioner wants to know about any
subject, at all.
