Silver Spring B&O Railroad Station - Open House

These family events
are presented by Montgomery Preservation Inc. and the Silver Spring Historical
Society. Admissions to building and public open houses’ are free.  www.montgomerypreservation.org.  As MPI prepares to

honor outstanding achievement in design, maintenance, and preservation of

buildings and environment at the upcoming Montgomery County Historic

Preservation Awards; March speaker Donna Evers offers in-sight on how county

property has devolved through the years. 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.  “The Ballard of Chevy Chase and How County
Property Has Evolved Through the Years." A glimpse of how Montgomery
County's housing communities have evolved into the highly sought after neighborhoods
they are today, with special attention to the ballad of Chevy Chase. This story
details an ambitious plan to develop high-end real estate in the middle of
nowhere; transforming a treeless pasture into the coveted suburb at the gateway
to the nation’s capital. The program features photographs depicting the
progression of housing stock over the years to the homes that please the eye
today.  Speaker Donna Evers is president
and broker of Evers & Co. Real Estate and has more than 30 years of
experience in theWashington metro area housing market. This speaker comes to
us via the Montgomery County Historical Society Speakers Bureau.
