Seneca Creek Watershed Partners Stakeholders Meeting

Seneca
Creek Watershed Partners Hold Organizational Meeting—Come Get Involved!

The Seneca
Creek Watershed Partners, with assistance from the Montgomery County Department
of the Environment (DEP), the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin
(ICPRB), will meet with members of the public interested in watershed
stewardship and protecting the waters of the Seneca Creek watershed on November
17, 2013, from 1-3 p.m. at the Izaac Walton League of America-Rockville
Chapter, 18301 Waring Station Road Germantown, MD 20874.

Andrew Fellows,
from Clean Water Action and the Chesapeake Regional Director, who was involved
with the save ten mile creek coalition this past summer, will speak and guide
this year’s meeting. The
exciting new incorporation of the Seneca Creek Watershed Partners, membership
drive, and website review will be discussed along with the structure and
successes of nearby watershed organizations.

This
organizational meeting will help determine next steps toward creating a greater
citizen presence that will help to protect and preserve the resources of the
Seneca Creek watershed, and allow citizens to collectively focus public and
government efforts in the areas of greatest importance.

Please come to
this meeting to meet with others who are interested in the health of the Seneca
Creek watershed and want to ensure that these natural resources remain for our
children and other future and existing residents of the area. Bring your ideas
and enthusiasm!
