NIH Community Orchestra and Chorus Present: A Seasonal Celebration

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Community Orchestra and Chorus in association with the East Avenue Ensemble of Chevy Chase present “A Seasonal Celebration.” The one-time only performance will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Cedar Lane Unitarian Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, Maryland. The concert, which is sponsored by the NIH Recreation and Welfare Association and the American Music Performance Foundation, benefits the charities of the NIH. The concert is free, as is parking. Free will donations are welcome to benefit the NIH charities.

The performance will feature timeless orchestral and choral music, including several selections from Handel’s Messiah performed as a sing-along. The orchestral portion of the program will consist of Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides, Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in G Minor, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 in B Minor (“Unfinished”). In addition to the Messiah, the Chorus will perform Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata.
