FILM SCREENING: LIFE IN A WAR ZONE: MONTGOMERY COUNTY DURING THE CIVIL WAR

Imagine thousands of Union soldiers setting up camp in your town and Confederate soldiers marching through your county to battlegrounds in Gettysburg and Antietam. Life as you knew it is turned upside-down. Immerse yourself in what life would have been like in Montgomery County during the Civil War by joining us for the screening of this Emmy Award-winning documentary created by Heritage Montgomery. Explore the impacts and legacy of the War in Montgomery County through a discussion following the screening with Barbara Grunbaum, producer of the film, Dr. Andrew Nolan, Director of the UMBC History Program at the Universities at Shady Grove, and Dr. Sunil Dasgupta, Director of the UMBC Political Science Program at the Universities at Shady Grove . Seating is limited for up to 300 people. Participants interested in attending the next session in the series will be able to pick up copies of the books that will be discussed at the next event.
