Wootton High School Yogathon
Ronnie Zelivinski, a senior at Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland, is organizing a Yogathan to raise money in support of YoKid’s free and low-cost kids’ yoga programs for under-served communities in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
The Wooton Yogathon will take place on Friday, February 15, from 3-5.30pm at Wooton High School, which is located at 2100 Wootton Parkway, Rockville MD 20850. To-date, 78 people have registered to participate, and many more are expected on the day itself.
Participants will engage in a sponsored series of fun yoga poses, including sun salutations and restorative yoga, designed to raise awareness and funds for YoKid’s kids’ yoga programs, which introduce children in under-served communities to the benefits of yoga. These include stress and anxiety reduction, decreased symptoms of depression, and improved relaxation and sense of well-being. No yoga experience is necessary to participate in the Yogathon, and mats and complimentary refreshments will be provided.
