Update: Parklawn Drive Water Main Break Repaired

WSSC reports service restored.

Update: Repairs were completed on a 12-inch water main on Wednesday evening after its break left six customers without service and shut down northbound lanes on Parklawn Drive for much of the day. WSSC spokesman John C. White said in an email at 9:49 p.m. that the break had been repaired and service has been restored. 

Original post, 7:09 p.m.: Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission crews are working to repair a break to a 12-inch water main  that has closed northbound lanes on Parklawn Drive and left six customers without water.

Others may have experienced low water pressure, said John C. White, a WSSC spokesman.

One of the affected customers was the , according to tweets and emails from some of the thousands of employees of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services who work there. White said he was unable to confirm that the building was one of the customers effected.

Repairs are expected to be completed by midnight, White said.

The break, at 12400 Parklawn Drive, was reported at about 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, White said.

The southbound lanes of Parklawn Drive remain open.
