Ugh. this is not the forecast you want to see for Opening Day.

We'll get through it. Hope springs eternal on Opening Day—and this year we're hoping for warmer weather, hot bats, solid pitching and defense and a lot more wins for the Nats and the O's. Or at least a few warm nights with a cold drink and a Ben's chili half-smoke (all the way) at the ballpark and we'll be happy.

  • Anyone passing by this morning might've seen a  lot of commotion—a crowd of students standing in front of the school, police and fire and rescue responding to a beat-up vehicle with several students who appeared injured and the Grim Reaper. The mock accident was part of the school's Students Against Destructive Decisions chapter's "Every 15 Minutes" program, which raises awareness about the consequences of drunk driving. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood will visit the school on Friday afternoon as part of the program. Check back with Rockville Patch in the days ahead for more coverage.
