Snow Possible In Rockville Early Thursday
National Weather Service: The Washington region could see about an inch overnight.
Montgomery County could see about an inch of snow early Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the Washington region, including Montgomery County, from midnight Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday.
Untreated surfaces could become covered with snow, possibly creating slippery conditions during the morning rush hour.

Temperatures will be in the teens and lower 20s Thursday morning, according to WJLA's StormWatch 7 Weather Blog.
"This should be the kind of snow that you can sweep off the steps or driveway with a broom rather than a shovel," WJLA reported. "Not great for snowballs!"

The last time the region saw significant snowfall was the "Commutageddon" storm, which hit during the evening rush hour on Jan. 26, 2011.
It has been 728 days since Washington, D.C. has seen a 2-inch-or-greater snowfall—"the longest span on record dating back to the late 1800s," according to The Washington Post's "Capital Weather Gang" blog.
