  • With an eye toward our swollen streams, the county's Department of Environmental Protection is hoping to get an earful about them this evening. The department is holding about the county's strategy for protecting local streams and the Chesapeake Bay from 6 to 9 tonight at the .
  • Magruder High School's boys basketball team is in . The Colonels play Waldorf's North Point High School at 9 tonight at Comcast Center at the University of Maryland, College Park. If you can't make it out to the game, @RockvillePatch will be tweeting quarter-by-quarter scores and will have complete game coverage early tomorrow.

  • The county recreation department's guide to rec and parks (vs. "Parks and Rec"—which, unlike Twitter, will not fall victim to Charlie Sheen, the LA Times reports) will be available by subscription-only beginning with the Summer 2011 guide. A $5 annual subscription gets you a guide for all seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter, Summer Camps and Spring). Or go dead-tree-free by getting the guides here or here.
  • Speaking of summer camp, check out for more on what's going  on around Rockville once school's out.
