Patch Picks: Spring Break Staycations

Planning to stay put for spring break? Don't miss these great Rockville attractions.

Spring break is coming up quickly.  For some schools the time is now! You could go away, but sometimes it’s nice just to enjoy everything there is in our area. Here are five things to do during your staycation:

  • In the mood to move? Hit the on Martins Lane for a swim, sauna, steam room and some time in the fitness center. There are two indoor pools and one outdoor. If you’re more in the mood for some time on the ice, the has several rinks. You can also rent skates and enjoy some cocoa and cookies before you head for home.
  • is just the place if you and your kids are into arts and crafts. They have a variety of ceramics just waiting to be glazed. Leave the firing to them and pick your creations up the following week. Ceramics don’t do it for you? Check out what’s happening at . With spring break camps and activities, they’re bound to have something that fits your schedule.
  • Spring is the season for rain. Head for in Town Center, get some popcorn and take a seat. There are several movies with opening days in the next few weeks. Or, see what’s on the schedule at . They’re family friendly and the acoustics are outstanding.
