Patch Picks: Father's Day Fun

Father's Day is this weekend. Here are a six ways to celebrate.

Father’s Day is the perfect day to celebrate with Dad. Stumped for something to do? Here are some ways to show him you care and have fun with the entire family:

  • Enjoy a boat ride. While  is closed for dredging, why not head up Interstate 270 to rent a kayak, canoe or rowboat at the Black Hill Regional Park boathouse in Boyds? For more information call 301-528-3466.   
  • Take a ride. Enjoy the fresh air and see a different part of Rockville by bike. The City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks Bicycling in Rockville Web site has extensive information for planning your trip.
  • Catch a play. The presents Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado" at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre with performances on Father’s Day at 2 and 5 p.m. Check the site for ticket information and driving directions or call 240-314-8690.
  • Create the perfect ceramic gift. Show how much you love him by creating a gift with his favorite pastime (sport team, hobby) and colors or with a statement to express your love (“World’s best pancake maker”).  has more than 150 different items to choose from, including statuettes of pets, animals, plates and bowls.
