Patch Picks: Christmas Trees

Looking for the perfect tree? Don't be Charlie Brown. There are plenty of places in Rockville.

Whether you put your tree up the day after Thanksgiving or the day before Christmas, there are a number of places to get a good tree in and around Rockville. 

Here are a few to get you started:

  •  on Montrose Road will sell fresh cut Christmas trees again this year. The Christmas stand will be open Nov. 27 through Dec. 23. Hours are 9 a.m. 9 p.m. on weekends and noon to 9 p.m. on weekdays. Call 301-881-1380.
  • Gaver Tree Farm, on Detrick Road in Mt. Airy, has a wide variety of fresh trees ranging from 4 feet to 12 feet tall. Selection includes Canaan fir, Colorado blue spruce, Douglas fir, white pine, Scotch pine, and Concolor fir. Gaver’s wreath shop has fresh 10 inch to 50 inch balsam, Fraser and noble fir wreaths, swags, pine roping, window boughs, greens, bows, tree bags and tree stands. Call 301-865-3515.
  • , on Kensington Parkway in Kensington, has poinsettias and fresh cut Fraser fir trees. Their Christmas shop has stocking stuffers and unique gifts, tree toppers, ceramics, angels, Christmas fairies, Santas and tree lights. Call 301-946-6700.
  • , on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg, has artificial and fresh cut trees. Home Depot also has a wide selection of Christmas decorations. Call 301-330-4900. 
  • , on Davis Mill Road in Germantown, lets you select and cut your own tree. You can select from Douglas fir, Canaan fir, and white pine trees that are 5 feet tall and up. The market has a selection of fresh wreaths, decorations and bows. Butler’s is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call 301-972-3299.
