Memorial Day in Rockville: What’s Open, What’s Closed, What's Free

Free parking at city meters, trash pick-up postponed.

In observance of Memorial Day, Rockville City Hall will be closed Monday, May 27.

Other Rockville facilities and programs will not operate on Memorial Day include:

  • City Hall
  • F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and box office
  • Croydon Creek Nature Center
  • Rockville Civic Center Park offices, including Glenview Mansion and the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery
  • Lincoln Park Community Center
  • Twinbrook Community Recreation Center
  • Thomas Farm Community Center
  • Rockville Senior Center

Parking fees at city-owned meters will be suspended for the day.

Recycling, yard waste and trash collection will be suspended and the schedule will shift one day later in the week. Friday collections will be made on Saturday. For more information residents may call 240-314-8568 or go to www.rockvillemd.gov/recycling-refuse.

The following Rockville facilities will be open on Memorial Day:

  • Rockville Swim and Fitness Center indoor pool and fitness center will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Due to the City's Memorial Day parade, access to Martins Lane and the Swim Center parking lot will be restricted until after noon. The North Pool will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The outdoor recreation and fitness pools will be open noon to 9 p.m. The South Indoor Pool will be closed.
