With a heat index projected to reach between 100 and 105 a heat advisory that was in place for most of the day just expired. With this forecast we’ll see an advisory rerun from noon to 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Gajewski will make it official with an announcement at 1 p.m. on Saturday at .
Mayor Phyllis Marcuccio will announce her reelection bid at 7 p.m. on Friday from the pavilion stage at . - Marc Korman, a member of the and Mark Uncapher, chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party talk county, state and other issues on the latest edition of “Politcal Pulse” with host Charles Duffy. “Pulse” is broadcast on Montgomery Municipal Cable Channel 16 at 9 p.m. on Thursday and again at 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
- Parents, students, staff and the community have two chances to meet the new schools chief next week. Josh Starr takes over as superintendent on July 1. Before that, he’s holding “meet and greets” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the cafeteria at in Rockville and again on June 15 in the student activity center at in Silver Spring.
- A new season of Rockville Express baseball is upon us. If you’re looking for a Father’s Day gift for your baseball-loving dad, the Express just might be able to help you out.
