Heavy Rains, Possible Flooding Expected Through Thursday

Drivers urged to check weather reports before traveling.

The Maryland Emergency Management Agency is urging drivers to use caution and check weather reports before traveling during the next 24 hours as the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch through Thursday evening and is predicting heavy rain and possible flooding throughout the region.

In a press release, the agency issued several tips including:

  • Call 911 in case of an emergency.
  • Allow extra travel time.
  • Check to make sure your neighbors are OK if the power is out.
  • Make sure your emergency generator has adequate ventilation.
  • Do not drive through or walk through standing water.
