This week's planner looks at the Presidents Day weekend and the final full week of February and brings you kung fu films, The Finest! and a festival of guitars.

Where/When: , 155 Gibbs St, Rockville. 7 p.m. on Thursday.

 Why Go: Munch on popcorn while watching 2009’s “Kung Fu Dunk”, a family-friendly movie where kung fu meets basketball staring Jay Chou. In Mandarin with English subtitles. While you're there enjoy one of the final days of “Looking East: A Celebration of Asian Culture” a month-long series of events and exhibitions.

Where/When: , 603 Edmonston Dr, Rockville. 8 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: The life of Harriet Tubman will be interpreted in this song-and-dance version of "A Change Gon' Come." The show will be performed by members of The Finest! Youth Performance Troupe.

Pricing: Adults, $15. Seniors and children 12 years and younger, $10.

Where/When: Meadowside Nature Center, 5100 Meadowside Lane, Rockville (in Rock Creek Regional Park). 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: This weekend's weather forecast is looking great! If you have a bout of cabin fever after being cooped up all winter and the kids are bouncing off the walls, here's your chance to get out. Naturalist Lisa Droubi will lead a family-friendly hike to explore Meadowside Nature Center's forest, meadow and pond and see the first stirrings of spring.

Pricing: Free. Registration required.

Where/When: , 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday (Presidents' Day).

Why Go: Who didn't want to play guitar at one time or another? The annual Discover Strathmore Festival is part of Strathmore’s season-long Guitar Festival. It will feature performers, music, workshops, sample classes, fine art and entertainment throughout the Mansion and Music Center.

Pricing: Free. No tickets required. (But no strollers in the buildings.)

Where/When: , 700 Fallsgrove Dr, Rockville. 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday.

Why Go: Play equipment in the gym, crafts, games and a light snack is great exercise for the tiny minds, bodies  and hearts of children ages 5 and under.

Pricing: $2 per child and a daily fee or membership for the adult. No registration required.
