Celebrate the season with Lunar New Year, a winter festival or ... a campfire (you read right)—pick and choose from this weekend's array of events.

Why Go: Restaurant samples, cultural performances, arts and crafts and a chance to see Mayor Phyllis Marcuccio feed the dancing lion.

Rockville Town Square Winter Festival
Where/When: . Noon–4:00p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: Life-size ice sculptures of your favorite Disney characters, live music by Dan Haas and Leven Legs, outdoor winter games, a snowboard simulator, Mickey Mouse moon bounce, hose hockey and a photo booth. Register to win family four-packs to "Disney on Ice" and enjoy specials from Town Square merchants.

Soul in Motion Ensemble Presents "Reflecting Africa"
Where/When: , Rockville. 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: Celebrate Black History Month with a percussion performance on traditional African instruments including djembes, djundjuns and shekeres. The program highlights rhythms, dances and folklore songs inspired by the West African culture of Guinea.
Pricing: Free.
Where/When: Croydon Creek Nature Center, Rockville. 6-7 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: A chance to sit by the campfire in the winter, enjoy stories and snacks and learn about things that give a hoot in the night.
Pricing: $4 residents; $5 nonresidents. An adult must accompany children and all participants must register. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs for sitting.
