Get Out: Patch's Pick-and-Choose Weekend Planner

Need a few ideas to get your weekend going? Look no further.

It’s Thursday. The weekend is so close you can almost taste it. Downside? You’ve got no idea what to do during your two days of freedom.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've picked out some of the best events around Montgomery County for your done-work-outta-here time. Is it 5 p.m. on Friday yet?

1.

Where/When: , 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda

Why Go: Sin Miedo, an international 8-piece orchestra, will be performing on Friday night this week. But we won't tell anyone if it's the $2 16 oz. PBR Happy Hour special that keeps you coming back.

Pricing: Tickets are $12 at the door; $10 in advance. 

2. 

Where/When: , 620 Perry Pkwy, Gaithersburg. Friday, 7 p.m. to midnight. 

Why Go: Ticket holders are encouraged to wear their favorite blue jeans and a tuxedo jacket or a few cocktail party accessories to this gala, which will benefit "Friends of Wells/Robertson House, Inc., whose mission is to support a continuum of prevention and intervention programs to reduce chronic addiction and homelessness in the Gaithersburg community."

Pricing: Tickets are $50 per person. 

3. 

Where/When: Tidal Basin, Washington. Festival runs daily through Sunday.

Why Go: This weekend will be your last to to walk among the Cherry Blossom trees (and the crowds) amid the official festival's glory. Here's to hoping for warm weather.

Pricing: Free.

4. Sugarloaf Craft Festival and Manna Food Center Food Drive

Where/When: Montgomery County Fairgrounds, Gaithersburg. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: According to the event website, "Lovers of fine crafts and art will find more than 250 top artisans displaying and selling their unique creations in pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, home décor, furniture and home accessories, items for the garden, and photography." Patch will also be helping the Manna Food Center collect non-perishable food items on Saturday at the festival, so be sure to clean out your canned foods before you come!

Pricing: Tickets are $9.

5. New York City Ballet

Where/When: The Kennedy Center Opera House, 2700 F St., NW, Washington. Thursday, Friday and Sunday, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: If Black Swan picqued your interest in behind-the-scenes lives of New York City's premier ballerinas, then you won't want to miss your chance to see them perform in your own backyard. The New York City Ballet will be performing "three mixed repertory programs of Balanchine black and white ballets with the New York City Ballet Orchestra."

Pricing: Tickets range from $25 to $85.
