Foodie News: Attman's Opens, Bezu Closes

Attman's Delicatessen is open, and is getting a good reception,Potomac Patch reported.

The Jewish-style deli opened July 8 in the Cabin John Shopping Center & Mall (11325 Seven Locks Rd., Potomac), according to its Twitter feed, ATTMANS2ndDeli. DMV Dining stopped by for a pre-opening sneak preview, and gave it high marks. Read more on DMV Dining's website.

Three sides:

Clams, oysters, lobsters. All of your favorite traditional New England seafood is coming to Traville Shopping Center in North Potomac, with the opening of Nantucket's Reef, which will fill the space formerly occupied by Stella's Restaurant on Traville Gateway Drive,Gaithersburg Patch reported.

The restaurant will feature a menu of items mostly under $20, including lobster rolls, mussels, oysters, fish and shrimp tacos, crab cakes and fresh fish, Bethesda Magazine reported.

A special dinner with 100 percent of the proceeds going to theManna Food Center will mark the opening of Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar in the North Bethesda Market in Rockville on Thursday, Aug. 15. The dinner will follow a 6 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and will cost $40 per person (not including gratuity), according to a restaurant statement. For reservations, call Paladar at 301-816-1100 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays.

Paladar will offer cuisine from Latin America, including Central and South America and the Caribbean. Its rum bar will offer a selection of more than 50 rums, the restaurant reported.

Owner Eddie Benaim shut down his Potomac restaurant Bezu last month, but plans to re-open the space in late August or early September as Mix Bar and Grill, "a contemporary American bistro with a Mediterranean lilt," The Washington Post reported.

Dessert:

Maybe there's no free lunch, but this Sunday, July 14—in observance of Bastille Dayla Madeleine Country French Café is offering a free mini tart, parfait or pastry to any patron who says "Happy Bastille Day" to a la Madeleine associate behind the counter. Neither a coupon nor a purchase is necessary.
