Giant Food to Close Rockshire Village Center Store

Employees will be offered jobs at other locations, Giant says.

 

Giant Food plans to close its store at the Rockshire Village Center next month, the grocery chain announced Friday.

, will close at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16, according to the company.

“After a thorough review of the operating performance of our stores, we made a very difficult decision to close the Rockshire Village Center location,” said Giant Food President Anthony Hucker. “We regret any inconvenience this will cause and encourage our Rockshire Village Center customers to shop at our nearby store locations.”

Pharmacy records will be transferred to , the release said. Pharmacy customers will receive letters by mail before the closing with details about pharmacy records transfers.

The company said the Rockshire Village Center store employs 14 full-time and 38 part-time associates, all of whom will be given opportunities to transfer to other Giant locations.
