Lord & Taylor has appealed a judge’s Dec. 20 ruling rejecting the retailer’s request to stop redevelopment plans at White Flint Mall, The Washington Business Journal reports.
The company filed the appeal Christmas Eve, The Business Journal reports.
Lord & Taylor sued the mall’s owners in July seeking monetary damages and a request to stop redevelopment until the department store’s lease expired in 2055, The Business Journal reports.
The ruling, which was issued Dec. 20, rejects Lord & Taylor’s request for an injunction but allows its suit over monetary damages to proceed, The Business Journal reports.
The mall’s owners, Lerner Enterprises and Tower Cos announced in 2011 plans to transform the shopping center into a mixed-use community, Patch has reported.
