Growlers Yorkshire Porter beat out Rockville’s Gordon Biersch Brewing Company’s Czech-style Pilsner. Frederick’s Flying Dog Brewery took the bronze for its Horn Dog Barley Wine, the comptroller’s office announced.

Sponsored by the Brewer’s Association of Maryland, the competition was held Saturday at the Brewers’ Harvest in Baltimore.

Maryland craft breweries showcased 195 entries across 13 categories. The gold medal winners from in each category advanced to the Best of Show round, where the top three were awarded medals with the overall Best of Show winner receiving the Comptroller's Cup.
