Walgreens is now open for business, a sign of what’s to come in the second phase of Rockville Town Center development.
Walgreens occupies what was once Orange Ball Billiards restaurant and pool hall at 430 Hungerford Drive.
The drugstore’s opening is part of a broader project to revitalize the northern end of Rockville Town Center.
Plans are already underway to build a 190-unit apartment community for seniors at the former Giant supermarket on Washington Street. There are also plans to build a two-story office and retail building with a Bank of America branch nearby.
