Where/When: , 701 Russell Ave, Gaithersburg. Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: If you're between 18 and 27 years old and at least 5 feet 7 inches tall, this may be your big break! Casting directors for the CW reality show hit "America's Next Top Model" will be looking for contestants for the show's 17th season. Where/When: , 20924 Frederick Rd, Germantown. Sunday, noon to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Whether you're looking to adopt a new kitten, or just need to get out of the house with the kids on Sunday, the Montgomery County SPCA cat adoption drive at Petsmart in Germantown will be a must-do for you this weekend.

Pricing: The adoption fee for cats is $100. Kittens under one year are $150. For more information, visit the SPCA's adoption Web site.

Where/When: , 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville. The festival will run from 2:30 p.m. on Friday through Sunday evening.

Why Go: Dozens of the country's finest jazz talents will be featured at this three-day festival.

Pricing: Tickets for an individual shows are $20. Half-day and full-day passes range from $45 to $110. An all-access pass for the three-day event is $225. To purchase ticket's visit the festival's Web site.

Where/When: Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department, 21400 Laytonsville Rd., Gaithersburg. Sunday, 8 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: If you wake up Sunday morning craving eggs, bacon, pancakes, hot apples and strong coffee, this country breakfast won't be one to miss. Proceeds go to the Laytonsville District Volunteer Fire Department, which serves the greater Gaithersburg community northeast of Montgomery Village.

Pricing: Adults, $8; Children, $5; Children under 5, free.

5. 

Where/When: , 603 Edmonston Dr, Rockville. Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: The life of Harriet Tubman will be interpreted in this song-and-dance version of "A Change Gon' Come." The show will be performed by members of The Finest! Youth Performance Troupe.

Pricing: Adults, $15. Seniors and children 12 years and younger, $10.
