Duball Wants To Double Number of Apartments at Rockville Town Center Site

Gazette: Application claims current market demand is for smaller apartments

Duball LLC wants to nearly double the amount of apartments planned for a building at Rockville Town Center—going from 222 to 400 units by offering smaller apartments, The Gazette reports.

The project involves two mixed-use high-rise towers being built across the street from Regal Rockville Center Stadium 13—one with a hotel, and 263 residences; the other is the 222-unit apartment building that Duball would like to expand to 400.

The application claims that current market demand is for smaller apartments. A Planning Commission briefing is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Speak out: Do you think Town Center would be helped or hurt by allowing more units? Do you think the move would make Town Center too dense? Or would this help stimulate business at Town Center?
